Where it all started:

I made my first quilt when I was 15 years old.  I made a pattern using a piece of lined school paper and cut out the triangles.  I used my mother's sewing  machine and pieced it together very haphazardly.  That quilt ended up being called "The Feel Better Blankie" by my children as it was the one that was always on our sofa and the kids would always snuggle under it when they were not feeling well.  Over the years I have done traditional piecing, English Paper Piecing, Foundation Paper Piecing, Needle turn applique, freezer paper applique, heavily embellished crazy quilts, landscape quilts, and freeform art quilts.  People would ask me where I got the pattern, and when I told them I designed it they would ask me if they could have a copy of it.  Thus, my business began.  I had never realized that what came so natural to me in designing and calculating and planning was difficult for a lot of people.   And that is why Yellow Rose Quilt Company is here!
